Simple Guidelines to Avoid Gallstones

The following are some suggestions for keeping gallstones out of the liver and gallbladder:

  • Do two liver flushes per year after completing the original set that clears out all the stones. Timing them with the season changes is a good way to remember, such as summer/winter, or spring/fall.
  • Support your digestive system by eating a healthy diet, eating meals at optimal times, and having periodic colonic irrigation sessions. If your digestive system needs additional support, use such products as Colosan, castor oil, or aloe vera juice.
  • Cleanse the kidneys so they can be effective at removing toxins from the body.
  • Drink ionized water. By boiling water for 15 to 20 minutes, the molecules are smaller and can move into and out of tissues more easily, carrying toxins with it. Also, negative oxygen ions are created that will neutralize positively charged toxins. A thermos of this warm water can be sipped throughout the day.
  • Take a mineral supplement of ionic, water-soluble plant minerals. (Minerals in the form of tablets, capsules, or colloidal liquids will not be absorbed as effectively as the ionic form.)
  • Drink 6 to 8 glasses of filtered, room temperature water every day. A glass of warm water first thing in the morning is a good way to cleanse kidneys. A second glass with the addition of lemon and raw honey will cleanse the intestinal system. Be sure to avoid drinking water near and during meal times so as to allow digestive enzymes to be full-strength when they are needed.
  • Drink little to no alcohol. Since it is highly acidic and dehydrating, it has negative effects on the liver and contributes to the formation of gallstones.
  • Eat enough food at meals to feel almost full. Overeating taxes the digestive system and liver, causing excess weight as well as toxic overload.
  • Eat meals at regular times every day so the body can prepare to process them. Avoid irregular meals, skipping meals and having snacks in between meals.
  • Eat a vegetarian or vegan diet to best support liver health. If meat is desired, then select the lighter ones such as chicken or turkey. Avoid fried foods, especially those in fast-food restaurants.
  • Avoid "light" or "low-fat" foods. The body knows it is being deprived of nutrients and will crave more food. These foods also disrupt the digestive process and have been shown to cause weight gain in scientific studies.
  • Use unrefined salt on foods. Adding salt to water will alkalinize it while adding salt water to raw foods will improve their digestion. Salt affects dozens of body functions so using salt that contains minerals and can be assimilated is essential.
  • Look at Ener-Chi Art paintings (done by the author) to restore the correct flow of chi or energy in the body. Unrestricted energy flow is a useful adjunct to healing processes such as the liver flush, colonics, and others.
  • Go to sleep by 10 p.m. to receive the most health benefits; during the time from 10 to 11 p.m., the most important body processes will take place if you are sleeping. Missing that time of rest makes the body tired and lowers immunity.
  • Avoid overwork and the stress it causes the body. The constant flow of adrenaline from this stress will exhaust the liver and lower immunity. Keep a balance of activity in life: one-third rest, one-third work, one-third recreation.
  • Exercise daily to provide the aerobic, stress-release and muscular benefits to all parts of the body.
  • Spend time daily letting the sun touch your skin to allow Vitamin D to be created and to improve all body functions. People with dark skins need to spend a longer time in the sun since their skin absorbs the rays more slowly. In the summer, restrict sun exposure to early morning and late afternoon. Avoid sunscreens since they disrupt the Vitamin D process as well as cause cancer.
  • Drink a tea made with liver-support herbs on a regular basis. A good one consists of once ounce each of dandelion root, licorice root, agrimony, wild yam root, barberry bark, bearsfoot, tanners oak bark, milk thistle herb and ½ ounce of comfrey root. Put two tablespoons into 24 ounces of water and let sit overnight. Then bring to a boil and simmer 5-10 minutes before straining. Drink two cups daily before eating.
  • Swish oil in the mouth daily to remove toxins from the blood and improve overall health. First thing in the morning, take one tablespoon of unrefined, cold-pressed sunflower, sesame, or olive oil into the mouth. Swish it around and between the teeth for 3 to 4 minutes, then spit it out. This can be repeated a couple more times, if desired. After this, rinse the mouth with ½ teaspoon baking soda or salt in water and brush your teeth. This is an amazingly effective practice.
  • Replace all metal fillings in the teeth with non-metallic composites. The metal fillings contain numerous highly toxic chemicals that are broken down by exposure to saliva and air.
  • Pay attention to your emotions, realizing that they are messages from your body about your life and those around you. Accepting all of them, whether they feel good or not, allows us to make more conscious, and hopefully healthy, choices.
